From 1 July 2025, version 2.8 of the BYD app will enable keyless vehicle sharing for a range of models including the ATTO 3, DOLPHIN, SEAL, SEALION 6, SEALION 7, and SHARK 6. The new feature is available to owners with vehicles registered on BYD’s Cloud Service.
The function allows up to five trusted users to be authorised through the app, offering added flexibility and control over who can access the vehicle.
BYD New Zealand says the feature is designed to make everyday car sharing easier and more secure, with authorisation and acceptance completed through a five-step process in the updated app.
The update will be available for download on both iOS and Android devices from 1 July.
